All this talk of toast/toasters reminds me of the time I tried to burn down my parents' new kitchen making poptarts; I set the toaster to dark, the poptarts inflated, the toaster became jammed, the poptarts caught fire, the flames scorched the underside of the couple-month-old cupboards. 30-something years later and I'm not sure my dad ever learned why we got a new toaster.

Well, we made it. Yes, we, I took my 5 year old granddaughter with me. I strapped her onto the front of the shopping cart to intimidate people to get out of our way -

Lesson learned - NEVER go to Walmart the week before Christmas.

Almost forgot to mention having seen the new BRZ for the first time today. We were in traffic together so I got to see all the angles. It's probably a wonderful ride but I would never pick it over a first gen. Maybe I can score a nice engine-transmission combo someday. I have a feeling that drive line swaps into first-gen chassis will be the hot ticket.

Well, I DO do the "cooking", but mrs humfrz outdoes herself by making all this fancy side stuff (read - heavy hors d'oeuvres). By the time we get around to eating my cooked main course, everyone is full. -

Don't wait too long! I recall the time that the first mrs humfrz and I moved into an apartment near Fort Knox, KY. I went to broil some steaks and took out the broiler pan from under the stove and it was full of maggots -

So, I just chicken fried those steaks.

(ya, @Tcoat , I know I've told that story before - but I'm running low on reruns - ).

Got the BRZ back, and a free full tank of gas. I'll take that as a win.
