I've thought about switching to Sony, but E-Mount glass is pretty pricey, and nowhere near as wide of a selection as EF-Mount. Plus, I'll have to sell off all my Canon lenses, which isn't too big of a deal I suppose. The other problem is that the a7Sii and a7Rii are notorious for overheating, and I do a lot of outdoor shoots in 100F+ weather. The a9 is new and nice, but needs more time to really see how it holds up long term (also $$$!). Not to mention that the only cameras that do 4k60 are the 1DX-II and the GH5. But the 1DX-II is MJPEG as well, and still missing a lot of key video features (peaking, zebras, etc), and it's $$$$! The GH5 is an m4/3, so 2x crop plus aperture disadvantage, so that sucks. With a speedbooster maybe it's worth it, but I really don't want to go down in sensor size. Canon Cinema cameras are great and all but C100 doesn't have 4k, which will be a problem long term, and beyond the C100, I'm delving into more production studio, less run-and-gun, equipment, and I'm really not ready to go there.

I can rant all day about this. I guess I just gotta keep waiting. Canon really doesn't seem interested in making a decent camera with PD-AF and 4k in a reasonable codec/bitrate, so I'm just waiting on the new D850 to come out and hopefully be the camera that I've been lusting after.

Haha yeah, that's fair. This was more of just a random rant though. I'm done! For now...

Up HWY1 to Half Moon Bay and have some calamari, probably Barbra's fish shack, then back up 1 to Monterey. Staying on Canary Row, so can walk to dinner.

Since the local 86Drive pie run my wife is getting used to me driving a bit faster. I get to drive the twistys, all day, eat good food, hang with my best friend and lover.

Ok, my hydraulics still work fine.

Life is very good.

Reason I told you all this?

I will have my nannies on, you are all safe.
Sounds like fun!

I'm sure mrs Sapphireho will be relieved ......

Have a great weekend .............

Yeah, sounds like you should consider going dedicated video. Red, Panasonic, Blackmagic, I don't know. I work with stills only.

No man, photography got easy! Try a Leica M if you get the chance. I bet you'll love it. It basically operates just like a classic 35mm SLR. Manual focus and all.

Yeah, those are very expensive. My wife would kill me if I even considered buying one as a companion to my DSLR. I still like dropping in to stores to play with their Leica M's. It's just that awesome.

I'm still hoping for that digital 35mm film replacement with a very thin image sensor that will fit in old SLR's. My old Canon A-1 is sitting on a shelf in full working order, waiting.
