Is the long tube header what caused the loss of the stock swaybar mounting position?

Yes.........didnt quite under stand the reasoning ......... honestly I think it slipped by them........no one else seems to have an issue with the front sway who has done the swap.......if you were to ask me i would omit the long tube header and just go with this......https://www.holley.com/products/exha...arts/8501-3HKR not 100% these would fit yet....

There's a reason why people should just spend the $$$ on a proven solution. I spent months trying to get ProEFI to work with my 2JZ swap, only to sell it and go with Emtron (which works). I didn't want to go with a piggyback or additional hardware. I didn't spend an arm and a leg, either.

May go that way......but all i need is steering and want the factory tach.....thats it.....to me a stand alone just doesnt seem cost effective for those two items...... as of yet... who knows.....what did it cost if you dont mind me asking.......

Emtron KV8 is in the $3K "range".

By comparison, the Motec M1, costs thousands of dollars more.

Thank to everyone for your input it is helping me out immensely. When I do the swap I will be using OEM GM ecu, exhaust manifolds, cats, intake manifold, and a canbus translator to get it bard in California after that I was going with itb's, lighter headers and a standalone ecu if needed. Emtron most likely.

Tuning itb's on the factory ecm I expect to be a pain in the ass. you will hit atmospheric at a much lower throttle opening position then 100%. that will cause your mapping to be less then ideal. If you are using a maf you would want to have both banks reading off of it for accurate fueling and ignition data. Go standalone, life will be easier. You can tweak things around to a point of mapping it, but it will never be ideal.

GM ecu to get through the inspection, and get my sticker. then upgrade to itb's ,and standalone ecu. Save the stock GM ecu, intake and exhaust manifolds to go back on when it is smog check time. Time to start ripping this thing apart.

@cf6mech did you get your can bus translator in the car and programmed yet? if so How is it functioning are you happy with it. I was in contact with @wutsaiu I ordered the parts he used and I will be using those parts and his program until i eventually go standalone. I will post a build thread when I have my swap 90% finished. just selling my old stuff and purchasing the new parts at this time. Probably Feb or March it should be completed for the most part.

Translator by AGT in Australia was a complete BUST.....believe me I tried everything to get this unit to work, spent many hours checking and double checking wiring diagrams.....and many other things,....spoke to a computer engineer in person, he opened the unit and examined it,....he said yes this could, (Ill empathize could work), but dont count on it to be seamless, he said that there will be data spikes occasionally that will cause your gauge to go off scale.....great!....but in my case none of it worked to worry about spikes.....didnt cost me anything as I was a tester except hours and hours in my garage in 100 degree heat.....so I guess I can be grateful for that....I know that there is video of this thing working,....but I'm done with it.....my next move is much more promissing....its a German based company that has a branch here in Ohio with an engineer thats a car guy......all they do is can-bus engineering on a much bigger scale

http://www.mrs-electronic.de/english/home.html This engineer was requested by Flyin Miata and has already hooked them up for the V8 ND Miata conversion, and as I type working with a buddy of mine in Seattle getting his V8 BRZ computer talking to a GM ECU,.... and without data spikes,....Stay tuned to something being available commercially soon. Hopefully I'm a few weeks away (as I have been told)from getting mine working.
