OFT stock equivalent tune

Is there an easy way I can flash an updated stock-equivalent dealer tune to my 2013 FRS, using my OFT, without the more aggressive ignition timing in the OFT base map? I already put in a support ticket to Shiv, but have heard mixed reports of his support for our cars lately, so I'm posting here with the hope somebody else out there has tried something similar.



This is simply for classing in time trial.



I don't want to flash my stock tune for tracking, since my car is a 2013 and am worried about reliability of the stock tune (early tunes had problems with the D/I seals).

That is the latest flash for the 2013. It has the DI seal fixes in it. This flash is for the manual, I assume you have a manual.

Woot! Thanks, @ermax! That would be perfect if I could just flash the stock tune itself using my OFT.


Do you by chance have a link to the parent post/page for that attachment? Would like to just verify before I flash it to my car.

Thanks again. Can the OFT even write tactrix files, or will I have to modify them to work with the OFT? I'm still researching how this all works, so sorry for all the questions. I definitely won't be writing them until I understand the file formats and such, but just want to verify whether or not I'll need a tactrix cable first.

There is no magic to an OFT hex. It's just a raw dump. For example I have OFT v4 flashed to my car with my Tactrix. The only time things get sticky is when you want to edit a HEX in RomRaider. You have to be sure you have the correct definitions so the software knows what offsets the values are located at.

you will need to alter two calid strings in the B01C to fool the oft into letting you upload a different calid to oft if your original rom id was not B01C, assuming you were &00C A00C or A01C previously

Thanks for the help steve99! Sounds like a bit of work with hex editor and I should be g2g. Is this work necessary so that OFT will overwrite the default (stock) tune it has stored with the new B01C, or will it add the tune alongside the previous (old) stock tune?

If they check if you have the original tune, then hex editing defeats the point as the tune will appear to be modified.

Better would be to flash back to (old) stock, unmarry the OFT and let your dealer flash an updated (unmodified) most recent tune file. That way you are 100% sure that you won't get into trouble with the regulations (don't know how competitive it is or if they even bother to check).

If you want to use the OFT tunes outside of tracking, you can simply re-marry it again after the dealer has updated your tune. Then the new tune will be stored in the OFT instead of the old one.

If you don't want to pay your dealer, buy a Tactrix for 170$ and do it yourself. Same procedure: Unmarry, update with Tactrix, re-marry and flash OFT tune as required. Or sell the OFT for 400$ and use Tactrix in the future and make 230$ profit. Or sell the Tactrix for 120$ and it will only have cost you 50$.
