i m glad Tor' solution saved me a step
thanks guys

soon he changes oil to 5w30 from 5w50, if we have time we try to raise again those 38 to 40
what could be the cause of that?

Might be just tolerance in components.

Or certian set of conditions amd tolerances with this car

So much we dont know about how ecu works and tests sensors or actuators.

Possible due to manufacturing tollerances or oil pressure differences due oil viscosity this car triggers some limit that causes deactivation of vvt. Stock tune setting may not excersice cam actuators to same degree.

Certianly possible that reducing cam phasing couple of degrees will stop problem as may different oil viscosity.

2 degrees differwnce in cam phasing will jave very little effect on tune

Cool that it fixed it. I don't think changing the oil will make any difference. Though going to 5W30 will probably be a good idea anyway.

With 5W20 I've seen the issue many times as well (not that they switch off, but that one or both cam can't achieve values of 39 or 40). Looks like this is just the accuracy of the system. I avoid 40 outright.
