Help with reverse camera
Hey all, I recently installed a Sony XAV-AX5000 and I need help with my reverse camera, it makes the quality of the video really bad with flicking after the car is turned on. But when I’m in accessory mode, the camera’s video quality is clear. What can I do about this image?

What rear view camera are you using? The stock one is 6v. Maybe the aftermarket head unit utilizes a 12v. Maybe you need a converter if so.
My Kenwood HU utilizes a 12v camera, and that is what I bought. I feel like people who bought the same unit with the stock camera just found a black screen--not a flickering screen--so I don't know if your problem is a voltage issue.

Well, I'm sorry to say, that is just the early stages of the disorder. Soon things will move around. In the latter stages, things will zoom up on you quickly. The final stage, before they take your license away, big things will jump up behind you, with no warning. There is no cure, but you can minimize the damage by limiting parking where you have to back up. |

I suggest that the next time you go rubbing just keep a copy of your Playboy stash by your side.

Looks like you are looking through a screen door.
Ok, does the vertical lines change or move right and left with RPM if yes then a line filter, or ferrite ring core that snappes on the video line might help. Sometimes looping it through twice works better. |

I suspect there's a bad or highly questionable ground somewhere. I would think first to the camera itself, but the headunit's ground interference (if the problem is up there) could filter to the camera if the camera is powered off the HU. I'd check and re-do both and see if it improves.
