Question Dual Oil Coolers in "fog light duct" area?

Has anyone tried using dual oil coolers on the brz / fr-s? i.e. replacing the location of the fog lights with a duct and mounting the oil coolers recessed in each front wheel well at an angle (with sealed duct attached).

This would not impede airflow through the radiator, but would it cause any other problems with pressure drop or does it work fine?

iboost, you don't need dual oil coolers. If you search around here is what you can do to combat heat in the engine bay:

-Vented Hood
-Remove OEM crash beam. This allow way more fresh air in(Get a drift bar)
-Get a 19-22 row oil cooler and position it off to the side and create a duct work. Look at AVO's kit.

Do these things and you will be good to go for most driving with a turbo setup.

Older photo from mock up but this is where I mounted my cooler, only 1. Intercooler piping is on the other side and I don't see a need for 2.

mrk1,

your oil cooler location is exactly what I had in mind. How many rows is it and which brand / model? Lastly, how well does it perform for you?

Thanks .

Full blown and MAP have a 19 row system that goes there, should be enough even for FI guys. A 25 row should also fit there if you want to piece something together

I have a @Maximal Performance kit that was used to build a prototype that would be a good start for you. Terry could source you whatever length hose you needed youd just have to build your bracket. Let me or Terry know if you are interested.

Yep, as long as you can figure out a mounting spot I can make the lines whatever length you need or get you a larger core. We carry Setrab which is going to be the best you can find.
