Don't settle for anything less than perfect.
No biggie, I definitely wouldn't want anything less than perfect. Coming from my 96 3000GT, I didn't think I'd find something I loved driving more than that until I picked this one up.

Yup. Best go kart ever. I don't miss my 240Z nearly as much anymore.

Figured I'd give anyone interested an update. May help with estimating their rear end damage as comparison? Idk. I got the update before noon Monday morning.

Not quite sure how well the photos will show up since it's all via my Samsung S7.

The total came to be $48xx. $17xx in parts, $23xx in labor, and $7xx in additional costs.

I requested Valenti sequential tails in red instead of factory replacements and was told they can do it. Estimated time of repair completion is the 27th, possibly sooner. Meanwhile I can enjoy the 2017 Camry, which as I was told, suits me well. Lol

Interesting that they are using recycled parts where possible and a disclaimer that other parts are not Toyota or Subaru sourced.

Also interesting that by law the car owner can chose the shop but it does not appear they have the same protection form used parts.

Thankfully here in NY we are able to specify OE only parts for repairs after an accident as well as choose a repair facility of our choice. That's part of why I take my cars to the dealers body shop when they get hit and insurance is covering the repair. It also assures me that they will use the correct paint and clear coat.

Back in the late 70's I had an accident with my 69 Nova in January and I was riding my motorcycle back and forth to work in snow/sleet, it got old after 4 weeks of waiting for my car to be repaired. Call the repair shop only to hear , we're waiting for another Nova to be damaged so we can use it's parts. Visited the office of the Maryland Insurance commissioner ,helmet in hand and explained the situation. Had my car back 2 days later. It seems at that time if used parts could not be found in 48 hours , the shop is required by law to get new parts.

Why are you even considering driving the car? Park it, call a tow and have it towed to the shop you want it fixed. Call your ins from there, and say send me a rental, take the rental till your car is fixed

One thing not mentioned here that stopped my car from starting is... load on the steering lock.

Assuming the US edition has a steering lock you will hear it whrrrr when you hit the start button. If there is too much load on the steering lock the motor will jam and the car will not attempt to start.

It's the same as in 'keyed' cars when you can't turn the key, you would of course wiggle the wheel a bit and the key will turn. Same in a keyless, try wiggling the steering a bit to take the pressure off the steering lock pin.

Got her back Tuesday evening. Had them replace my taillights with Valentis. I considered driving it because I needed to get to work, I don't really like asking for rides or relying g on others. It sat in a lot untowed for two days cause the car was too low and the tow people unfortunately suck. I think I mentioned why it wouldn't start, the damage didn't affect it's drivability. It just looked ugly for a few days. All better now, if something goes wrong I'll just bring it right back to Progressive and they'll take care of it. So far so good!
