Guys im trying to buy a set of headers off someone and was wondering what the safest way to do this would be. Paypal says they don't cover custom products, would the FT86SF headers be considered custom? They're all made in house and hand made.

For the first one, do the transaction someplace public (Starbucks, library, in front of a police department office, etc.). For the second one, it's tricky. Look over the piping for cracks or other obvious damage, check the cat if it has a cat to make sure it isn't blown. They're probably considered custom still since they aren't OEM but maybe others can chime in.

You should be fine. Just don't gift the money to them. Inspect the item when it arrives and make sure it matches the description.

It's not the tires pulling you around, it's the camber. Mostly. But you can just put 185 tires on those 17x9's no? I hear it's the thing to do. I run TC105n in 17x8 for road trips and whatnot, just don't care about 'filling out the wheel well' all that much. Good wheels > just so on fit. If I really worried, I'd just get spacers and extended studs. My Sparcos (17x7.5) with winters don't clear the OE brembos, sadly. Do clear AP Sprint, which is notoriously difficult. It's all about spoke shape. Don't assume offset is the magic fit. With the larger rotors, it may not be the ticket.

Request an invoice noting the product, condition, etc. Makes it easy to be sure it's going to the right person, the right amount, and provides a record of exactly what you're buying, what to expect. It should be specific about condition that matters: "no cracks in welds or piping. Small dent where it rubbed on the undertray. No gaskets." or whatever is appropriate for the actual item. This protects the seller too, for what that's worth. You can't go back and claim you paid for something not on that invoice which you didn't get. Do not pay friends and family. Unless you'd pay cash, because it's equivalent. Soon as it leaves your hands, the only way you get it back if something is wrong is due to the decency of the seller. This is a commercial product, even though it's hand-made. Not custom.

Yeah just use PayPal. Every single thing ever made is technically “custom” lol but FT86SF is a company making their own products under their brand so PayPal should have your back should something shady happen with the seller. I’ve used it a few times with no issue. Make sure you thoroughly look over the product as soon as you receive it and everything else is common sense. Used parts will never be perfect, but that’s the risk you take buying used. Nothing wrong with it just be smart.

Kinda wish I had the pilot light in my wall heater lit now... 40 degrees here. Not horrible but definitely chilly. Problem is my landlady is super strict and requires that I have her or her husband light it rather than me doing it myself. And most winters I only need it occasionally. But damn it’s kinda cold tonight.
