Servicing my FR-S at Subaru dealer rather than Scion dealer
There's a Subaru dealer nearby that I have good relations with. I trust them to do work well and right on my car. So I'm thinking about taking my FR-S to them instead of a Scion dealer I've never worked with before.
Anyone have any advice or tips or things that I should be aware if I want to take this path? I know I'd be missing out on the Scion Boost thing, and I probably have to keep careful record of all maintenance paperwork in case warranty issues come up. It seems easier to take it to the Scion dealer, but trust is an issue. |

But like you and EsoBOFH say, it's worthwhile to at least give them a chance, which I will do. |

I AM referring to an oil change. An oil change where the oil was double filled because it was never drained, whilst the transmission was.

To be honest, I was a "car guy" (see Dadhawk's definition) when I got my WRX. I wondered why it had two pans so close together, lol. The problem is that most oil change places like that are going to see FWD cars where the tranny pan IS the one closer to the front.

You are more likly to have Toyota to honor warrantys if u have all scheduled maintenance done at the dealership. And moast dealers wont touch a car unlesse it is the same label brand. Like crysler will not do work on a mitsubish truck or Toyota won't touch a pontiac vibe even if it was the same thing as a Toyota matrix.

Wow if Toyota is saying this thats the dumbest thing I've ever heard. The car came out of a Subaru factory and both cars are identical under the hood. If it's just regular maintenance service both companies should have the same service protocols. And if you go to Subaru with your 86 Toyota saves money by not having to service your vehicle.
