Preordered one, It's good that it's not really a truck in American sense.

*was gonna buy a gladiator. This is definitely better.

I dunno, I applaud Tesla for thinking out of the box, doing something different. Ugly? Yeah. But I think most pickups aren't really made to be pretty, they're more for utility, which the jury is out on this thing. People said the Ipad would be a flop when it came out...

I'll be impressed if they actually release these for the $40k suggested price

I am not surprised with the reaction here since our taste is aligned with the twin. But I will not be surprised if this truck sells like hot cakes either; there is a big market for it

We shall see.. It may completely own the truck market. Or may go the way of the dodos or delorean.. both animals and cars happened to have odd shapes during their time haha..

Update
3/4 of a billion shares gone since the demo.

I saw a benefit to the ipad. I see a benefit to flexible phone screens.

I see almost no benefits in this truck. The only positive thing i have to say is that i like the air ride modes that tip the back lower. I've been working on thinking up a similar solution for my own truck for a few years of similar usage.

Everything else, from teslas software, to interior space, to bed accesability/tie downs are worse than any other vehicle option of the same capability in any price range

Out of the box? It IS the box.

You guys make good points. We are entitled to our opinions but who are we to judge the merits of the aesthetic? I am always surprised and am ready to be again here.

But I doubt it.

It's getting deep(er)

Supposedly Tesla has 200,000 "reservations" for the truck. I'd like to see the contract fine print about future prospects of collecting the $100 refundable deposit.

I'm guessing that battery technology is going to advance more rapidly now that ford has thrown its hat in the ring. Imo this is only the beginning, like it or not

Battery tech can advance but the issue of recharging and accessible charging points is a big issue especially here in the UK. The photos below I took of a Tesla on a charger in the middle of London UK.. not practical or safe...
