GM published official acceleration figures for Stingray in line with the numbers recorded in preproduction pieces tested by the press. I'll take their word for it now that there's potential liability involved despite their fine print.

I don't know how every other magazine and journalist (well mostly Jason Camissa) complained at length about this car, basically calling it an understeering pig. Meanwhile we have motor trend praising it and calling it a non issue.

Sounds to me that the Corvette Engineers did what was best for owners and not supposed "experts".

Having learned about "snap oversteer" in mid-engine cars the hard way with my '85 MR2, spinning across 3 lanes of traffic on a major highway when trying to dodge a car that pulled directly in front of me, I'm OK with that decision.

I learned about snap oversteer in the same car with an added helping of disorientation at my first auto-x. I even bought extra sticky tires before the event convinced I'd be able to exploit the extra grip. Instead I entered the chicane at the end of the longest straight sideways and exited backwards still spinning and collecting cones all over the course eventually sitting in a cloud of expensive rubber dust.

The upside is that I got my first random orbital polisher to remove paint damage from almost every panel.
