Port & Polishing Turbos
Hey guys, so thoughts on porting and polishing turbos? The SBD kits I have on order comes with the mitsubishi 20g turbo as you probably know.
I do know you need to port the wastegate to prevent boost creep, however since it will be at the shop getting that done should I bother with a full port and polish? I think it is a waste on this turbo but what are your thoughts?? |

In for answers as well. I don't plan on upgrading the turbo (easy to say right now) but it won't be in the car for a while anyway.

You planning on porting your wastegate too or you going to just deal with the boost creep?

Another plus besides elimnating creep, is allowing for more accurate boost control and no spiking when going external gate I'm just here for my own mental notes at this point, not trying to perpetuate the propaganda lol |

Hey, if you got the SBD400X I think it's already ported. I just ordered too.

Yeah really excited to get this thing in and get to work. My VW daily has been in the shop for over two weeks though so I'm not sure what's going to happen.

Haha. Btw, if you're installing yourself, if you haven't done the oil pan before, be careful not to gouge your upper oil pan assembly when you remove the lower pan, and get a big ass can of acetone to soften the gasket.
