Does it have any issues (engine/chassis/interior)
Hows the power on it?

Ill add more to the questions once i think of more
I had 2008 civic si coupe with me for 4 years. After switching to frs, i start to miss the exhaust note of the si 's. Compare stock to stock, frs's exhaust is just too quiet. Also I'd say those 8000rpm ivtec sound and rush will be miss! Steering wheel volume control, armrest will be missed. Frs still a great car compare to si. Think of it's getting more attention when driving out down the street, as of for now...

Yeah id definitely miss the exhaust sound. That thing sounds beautiful. And im not worrying about the steerig wheel volume control. Mine doesnt work cuz i have a dvd player and i dont hav the steerig wheel module. Does frs have cruise control?

After reading this forum every day the past month I was becoming a little hesitant about going through with buying it. Well, I did buy it--- yesterday.

This car totally exceeds my expectations. It is a dream car - plain and simple! I LOVE my new red stick frs! (and I think it loves me )

Yeah it has cruise control locate at 4 o'clock position, it seems kind of getting on the way when turning the steering wheel compare to si 's

What car are you making a comparison against? $31k CAD mean different things to different people. If you're in Alberta and make $100k/yr, then 31k is a steal.

And don't mind our Yankee friends, they don't realize we Canuck ballers likes to pay more for our cars, gasoline and fast foods.

I always rank s2000 higher up since I've never own one. Other than the high price, it revs higher, more horsepower & material wise it seems just better than frs...

But frs is just a budget car that with the body that looks so, exotic for now...... since it still new

Definitely well worth it. Though, I'd get a BRZ and not an FRS for 31k. I dont know why the FRS is that high.

Go with the BRZ, get the luxurious feel for the same or less price.
That $31G is all in, and out the door price. $25,990 is the price before tax, freight, etc. The base BRZ would be 2-3Gs more than that.

Greaser, there really aren't many negatives. Some people have had some issues, but it is a first year car, and most of them are pretty minor. It looks like Scion is working with customers on most of them. Check the technical topics section under Issues/warranty/recalls&TSB for any bad stuff.

Any cabin issues? Road noise? Room for passengers in the front/back? Driver leg room? Ride comfort?

Yes, the FRS is a cheaper version of the S2000...in fact, the little sister I like to call it. In fact, i am 99% sure Scion/Subaru used the S2000 for a mentor. The FRS sure drives and feels like my S2000 from all standpoints....

And just for our US friends, some of us actually paid $55K CAD (and more) for a S2000 in 1999.

I love my FR-S. But miss the the power that my GS400 had. I also miss the sound my ap1 s2000 made at 9000rpm. But I am getting 34.5mpg avg and it is dead sexy!

WA State must get their cues from their Canadian neighbors. Our sales tax is 10% and this applies to cars. I paid $2400 in tax on my FRS.

Not worth the hassle as after the exchange rate and taxes we need to pay on the way back, wouldnt make the purchase a good deal. UNLESS....the car is a high end car, say 911TT...80kUSD vs 120KCAD. (note I dont actually know the exact price of that car, just posting to make a point)

I like fast cars but buying a fast car out of a dealership lot kinda contradicts with the fact that im a car enthusiast and i wanna build a car from stock.
And also im asking the forum cuz im 90% into buying frs. And im just looking for the goods and bads that i was not able to see in the 30 min window of fun Scion has given me.
I came from an 08 Si with i/h/e/flash pro and a few other mods (mounts, pulleys). I'm willing to bet I had about 240-250bhp on that thing after all the mods and tuning. I do miss the VTEC kick at 4k and 6k rpm up to ~9k rpm scream, no doubts about that.

However, the FR-S has tons of benefits. It's RWD, looks amazing, handles like a dream, and weights about 100-150 lbs less. I also like the increased torque down low (compared to the Si) and let's be honest: it's not fair to compare a heavily modded Si to a stock FR-S. Give the 86 the same treatment and then let's see how it ends up.

I do not regret my decision at all. As much as a lot of people say, "the 86 isn't a fast car," it's definitely no slouch either.
