Not even...

A turbo'd Veloster couldn't keep up with me the other day in my 10 series Automatic. It wasn't even close.

FRS Automatic gets dogged so much on here by manual owners, but it's really only about 15hp less than the manual. That's made up by changing small things like CAI, exhaust, test pipe, headers, etc....

I don't know if other automatic FRS/BRZ have this, but the 10 series has a manual mode that drives much more aggressively than when it's in auto. It's slow if you drive it in Automatic mode. The car's trying to save gas when in auto, and up shifts every chance it gets to. I seriously never hit 6th gear under 100mph, but in auto mode I've seen it in 6th at under 50mph. Auto's rated to something like 34mpg, but I never even see 27mph because I rarely use auto.

Feel free to quote and flame here, but when you live between 2 big cities like DC/Baltimore and need drive to work at 7am in stop and go traffic, the automatic option saves me a lot of headaches.

Regardless of what you may have experienced you can't argue with the hard numbers. Do a little research and you'll find nearly every credible test has rated the auto fr-s somewhere between 7 to 7.5 0-60. The veloster turbo is faster 0-60 then your auto fr-s. The end.

Don't worry, I'm not hating, I just think it's funny that you of all people are bashing this car when your frs comes with a full body kit from the factory and has as many exhaust tips as it does cylinders. It is pretty much the definition of "all show, no go".

I'm not saying my Monogram is any better, but it is essentially just a stock GT86. It doesn't even have a special number plate, which I happen to prefer.

Maybe someone on a higher "plain" of exsistence wouldn't understand.

Most of the times you see on reviews and tests are in sport mode. usually 7.2 to 7.5

In perfect conditions with the perfect set of tires the auto could maybe match the velos time however thats not exactly a fair result. People have also broken the 6 second mark in the 6MT by clutching in at red line and getting it to coast to 60. That doesnt mean the 6MT does 0-60 in 5.9 it just means the car "can" do 0-60 in 5.9.
