I'd get excited if I saw a F20 2.2L or 2.4L, but same 2.0L.....mostly cosmetic and for dd makes no difference....so not too excited. Maybe 3/10 excitement.

Who knows? Maybe this is a step towards more power???

further investigation for intake manifold and intake airbox to find actual prices;

parts listed show stock toyota parts used and grmn parts, as you can see the grmn parts don't show a price yet and show "from 9/2/2016" so we need to be patient for 2 more weeks!

intake manifold parts:

Oh aren't you guys spoiling the fun for next gen already. Pretty surprised to see this leak coming up this early. A lot other interesting stuff will be shown for next gen 86/BRZ

I really want that carbon fiber hood, but I probably won't ever get it due to what Tcoat mentioned above: Hard if not impossible to get, expensive, and illegal. Still nice to dream about it on my FR-S I suppose...
Wait carbon fiber hoods are illegal in the US?

Whole honesty, idk. To be correct, idk detail info, but I do know rough info about next gen 86/BRZ. Rough as small info on engine, chassis infos.

Can I say anything? No, not yet. Not til they announce it.

I wouldn't be surprised since OEM hoods are designed to crumple and a lot of aftermarket CF hoods don't design there CF to crumple.

I only know of a few CF hoods that are designed to crumple but who knows if they would pass safety tests. These hoods are $3000+

Please post a link of this....I'd like to see a crumpling CF hood. I am skeptical though.

I might be wrong on the legality of the hoods, but I do know that what Hanakuso said was on point. I think most of them are labeled for off-road use only for this reason.

Given that this was a homologated car for the street, I would think that an in-house, Toyota-backed aftermarket hood would be the exception to the rule, but I'm not sure how greatly Japan and the USA's safety standards differ.

If the CF hoods have the minimum required crash test ratings for the US they would be legal for use as stock on a new car. Without it they could not be a stock part on any vehicle sold there. An after market hood placed on a car they would be perfectly legal even if it was a guaranteed kill device. There would of course be the standard "for off road use only" disclaimer attached to it for the manufacturer's and retailer's liability purposes.
The only place the legality may be a grey area would be States with laws such as "unsafe alteration of a vehicle" (hello California).

There are indeed carbon fiber and even fiberglass hoods that are designed to "crumple" and are crash test rated but like was said they are not cheap.

Thanks for this info Tcoat. I wasn't sure of the legality of aftermarket hoods in general, so I appreciate the confirmation.
