That happens to me once in a while and my response is always the same: seriously?

Then I hear how they got busted with an employee selling to a minor, so zero tolerance policy. Card everyone.

I shake my grey haired head.

I kind of wish the local spot would card me. It might have something to do with being on a first name basis and spending every other paycheck there. :/

I recall back in my drinking days, we had two liquor stores in town, so, I would alternate my purchases between them, so that neither one would know how much I drank -

Been there, done that. Not a particularly proud time in my life.

You had cash so they didn't give a rat's ass how much you drank.

i'm lazy about shaving my chin fuzz, mostly because people think i'm about 15 years younger every time i shave. it wouldn't be so bad, but many older people start questioning if i know anything about my job.. then i tell them i've been doing it for 10 years, and they ask if my mom drove me around when i started...

One of the benefits of working remote, boomers have to talk to me before they see me.

Yup. Lived his best life though.

I need to rewatch Darby O’Gill and the Little People. One of my favorite films as a child. Cute story. I think it was his first film role, and the one that helped land him the role of 007. Albert Broccoli’s wife recommended him to her husband after seeing it.

One of my buddies has a factory-fresh 1933 Walther PP. He’s wanted a Walther PPK forever, but prices continue to skyrocket. He tried one of those S&W PPKS briefly-but it left him feeling cold. It’s like a fake Rolex.

without the fuzz, i look early 20's most times, so they do the math and assume i started when i was a pre-teen.

i enjoyed doing that, my phone demeanor always lead them to believe i was older, and someone worth respecting(ageism is definitely real).

but then i'd meet them in person for a service call, and they would either be in denial that it's the same person, or would immediately say how much younger i looked and then go into questioning if i really knew what i was doing.
