Big long scratch

Well, it happened. I was backing my car into my driveway at night (70'-0") and I scrapped the side of my car on my boat trailer tounge. 3' long scratch starting in the rear fender and ending 1/3 into the driver door. Creased the metal too. Turns out, Subaru paint is $400 alone. I have a friend doing the paint job for $700, but most shops wanted between $950-1200 to do the job.

I can atleast say, the paint seemed average thickness to me. Wish it was as thick as my Toyota, but oh well. Time to go castrate myself.

Don't beat yourself up too much, it is fixable, just gonna take a hit in the wallet, (and nuts in your case).

I had a 3 foot long scratch from my fender to door as well on my previous car. on my passenger side.

But it was done at a parking lot, by someone I don't know.
At least you know how it happened. I was kept furious not knowing why or who did it. IMO i rather wish i did it so id at least know its preventable.
