Hard to believe there were only about 30 episodes of the original. There is supposed to be a movie on SyFi this year, but its a horror movie that occurs during the filming of an episode.

Back in my college/amusement park days a bunch of my fellow "characters" and I got permission to go into the "graveyard" where they kept all the old costumes for the park (it was a Hanna-Barbera theme park) and were excited to find a set of Banana Split costumes that looked practically new but had been mothballed for 10 years. We took the Banana Splits costumes out and used them for one walk a day for about two weeks. For two weeks, I got to be Snorky.

Man, your story reminds me of a park we had here in San Jose from 1961 to 1980. It was called Frontier Village. Gun fights in the streets and stuff. Nice little park. When they were struggling at the end, they had the Hanna-Barbera characters.

For years, before the one charge for all rides park thing started, you could go in for free, and one of the things they had was a big trout pond. They had employees to help you, the sticks with the string and hook, and I think they put corn on the end. The pond would just be full of giant farmed Rainbow Trout. You stuck your line in and you would have a giant fish on the end in no time. They would clean and wrap them in newspaper, and charge you by the pound. Well, it was less than the fish market, and you knew at least they were fresh! My Dad would say, "we're having trout tonight.", and we would go get some trout. We could always talk dad into letting us ride a ride or two. Such great memories.
