Yes, but the person with the most birthdays lives the longest.

Did you know that a bad USB mouse could cause your USB controller to hate you thus causing your PC to refuse to boot ? and two hours farting around with chkdsk and sfc don't find anything wrong so you start losing your mind. Then random plugging in a different mouse fixes everything.
*sigh* |

Today is first day of fall. The hummingbirds have moved on, the quail are grouping up for winter. Farmers are harvesting whatever is left. Time to go buy about 200 leaf bags.

Round 3 of dealing with the Maryland Vehicle Authority: trying to complete the registration on my 2 cars that had to get inspected. Currently on temp registration, and I have a limited time to register after paying $200 for safety inspections or I have to do them again...
I cannot do it online because they don't have my insurance info. I cannot give them my insurance info because that needs to come from the insurance company. I cannot initiate a request for that because there is already a request for that information, but my insurance company has no record of it so they cannot respond to it. The phone number the MVA lists returns a busy signal at all times during their open hours, and a recording stating to call back at all other times. I found a secret phone number that got be to not one, but two very grumpy and rude individuals who were not much better than the robot answering devices. I sent an email explaining the situation and asking for guidance that I have 0 hope of being returned because they never responded to my last email. In person is appointment only, which is BS, because you go there at the appointment time and then you still sit and wait in a stuffy crowded room for an hour or two where everyone has to social distance and wear a mask except for the goddamn state police officer apparently. Options right now include trolling their FB page, or trying to call or email the executive office (which are publicly listed by individual, but I doubt that actually gets me to them), or just walking into a branch passing the appointment guard out front and just asking wtf is going on. |

That is what worked for me with Oregon DMV. No joke, I kept commenting on their posts and I got a message to call a number that was not listed.

On the plus side, I'm pretty sure MD police across the board have been told not to pull people over for expired tags right now. Apparently tag issues have been rampant for months now thanks to covid. (I only looked into this and talked to a cop buddy after waiting 5 months for my custom tags)
