Was at gas station at late night nothing to do can't go to sleep. And see new wrx getting gas. Made me think twice, my wife won't get in my car, she says my car is too low and makes her sick. I should have gotten wrx? When i go shopping I think about that too, maybe I should have gotten wrx ?
Just paid 2nd payment on frs. Lol sigh. Good news is ft1 from Toyota won't be out for while

Just watched Fight Club. It was good, just a tad bit predictable. Overhyped too; It didn't really blow my mind like I was told it would. Very interesting cinematography with some great acting though, so I definitely enjoyed it.

Watched Top Gun last night.
Googled what the cast of the movie looked like now and everyone aged poorly with the exception of Tom Cruise.

My favorite character Goose was all bald.

It's all good, I did some more reading on the FA20 and I've convinced myself that the engine outweighs the shortcomings of the overall package. The AVCS system is super clever engineering! The system's speed varies linearly with rpm so in theory its response time should be better than most VVT systems that depend on oil pressure, cuz oil pressure drops off quite non-linearly at low rpm.

I also somehow just a few days ago figured out what a Torsen LSD is and how much more awesome it is than the other LSD types. I wouldn't mind having that in my car

Either way the 86 will most likely be a temporary car. I'm putting my hopes on the rumored new baby Porsche 718, or a future MR2 if Toyota pulls their heads out of their asses. Literally all they have to do is take their new 6AR-FSE Camry lump and copy the FA20 heads for an easy 200hp. In fact I bet it would make more than 200hp because the Camry motors are actually better in every other way (3 stage oil pump, variable length intake runners, 12.7 CR, lower friction).
Personally, there are a few engines that I would rather see a version of the D4S system on. Ford's 2.0L Duratec TI-VCT comes to mind. Or even Mazda's 2.0L Skyactiv.

But yes, despite the mixed bag, I do like the balance the FA20 strikes. Power is good, handling is good, fuel economy is good, and reliability is good enough. Nothing is really great or excellent. Now if Toyota/Subaru would just start doing what they are good at and make a sedan/hatchback. Though I know that isn't what you wanted Cerealkiller. An entry level Porsche does sound more to your preference.

As for graduate school, that is a bummer. I dropped out of a college year before last, so I have been working and finally landed a full time job. Turns out the company I work for now will reimburse for most of the cost of attending college after I work there for two years. So I'm planning to catch up on my debt and try college again in a couple years. Hopefully, I can afford to buy something more long term. I bought the Mazda3 out of desperation and I compromised heavily to get it. But a sports car was just too far out while I was still making $8.50 an hour. My pay will almost double after I work here for a year but not really close to what I want to be making.

LOL im surprised more people are not in the entry level porsche market here...The Subaru's have been fun but financially I stand to lose more by turbo charging my brz to 300hp when I could pick up a used cayman s for about 6k more once I part out!

Already test drove two this week absolute bargains out there on cayman s

I actually want to see a dual injector system on a Porsche engine or Honda engine, because they have variable lift. The new Porsche engines strike a decent balance between low end and top end, but the last 500 rpm are only good for making noise. The new Honda DI engines have tons of torque but are choked at the top end too. The 991 GT3 engine has horrible low end torque, but I'm not going to ever own one of those lol.

Ever since the 2ZZ, F20, and K20 died, engines that actually make power to 7500rpm have only existed in exotics or at least 100k+ cars. It would be refreshing to see a counterexample. Come on Toyota, 6AR-GSE? lol...

At this point, my hopes are on Porsche because the Japanese companies seem to have cut off their balls. I'm scared Porsche is going down the 6000 rev limit super high boost route too :/ I'm really hoping I don't have to do a 2ZZ Spyder build because I hate the soft top and luggage space so much.

Because Cruise is not human. He is a clone that they just grab a new one of for each movie.
