Drive one and you'll instantly know if its for you or not. For me, it simply wasn't.

Here were my thoughts from a previous thread

Looks are great (and even better in person), brakes have bite, but the car isn't screwed together at all -- fitment and finish is worse than the 86.
The steering is telepathic, but communicated through one of the cheapest feeling wheels I've held on to.
The Camry V6 doesn't like to rev like our boxers and feels lethargic and disconnected.
Shifter action is so long it feels like you're punching the bloke overseas who put it together.
Pedal placement might have been an afterthought for LHD, because it is so offset to the right, I was fatigued after my test drive.
No dead pedal either unless you get the IPS.

They fixed some of these problems with the Evora S (and 400), but $8k and 30 hours to replace the clutch sealed it's fate for me.

I know they are a dime a dozen, but the Cayman is a far superior road car, it takes a fairly special person to own a Lotus.
You will have to accommodate that maybe your Lotus won't startup the next day and you will not have parts for months.

You have to disassemble half the car just to replace the clutch

What do you want your car to do?
Daily driving, or a track car?
If you want a track car, get an Exiege. The Evora has weak trannies. I know cause a few years back every Evora owner bought up all MR2 turbo tyrannies, even had at lest 5 dudes asking about my used trannies.

If you want a nice V6 get a camero base, Genesis, or hell, a mustang base.
If you just want a DD take the BRZ. Or a Miata

I like them, but I am not a fan of the truck transmission and shifter, it's like you think you're in a sports car then you shift and suddenly you're reminded of a truck lol

- evora has a toyota engine, isnt it easier to find parts for it?
- the clutch, didnt they have an aftermarket one to fix it permanently?

It is a Toyota 2GR-FE, which is found in the previous and current Camry.
It wasn't the engine's reliability or part availability that I was worried for, but rather the labor and complexity to service / work on the Evora that put me off.

There were concerns that the Evora clutch had issues which varies from vehicle to vehicle (especially when it comes to Lotus). AFAIK, durability of the clutch was the weak point. You probably can get a different AP Racing clutch to replace it.

That made me laugh so damn hard. I couldn't imagine the Evora really being this bad, but i guess no one else did either til they saw one. Didn't they run like 60k new or something?

It's not the clutch, it's the whole tranny that is weak. The gears just explode after hard track time. Or under boost.

If it was just a clutch issue, Lotus people would not bought up every mr2 turbo trannies.

From what I have read previous Evoras, they suck. According to the majority of auto press, the 2016 Evora 400 is one of the best cars sold today and the 2017 Evora 410 is essentially the shit legends are made of.

~64k for the base Evora back when it was released in 2010.
The Evora 400 is 90k now.

The automags have always reviewed loti in a positive light. The cars, however, are not reliable. If money is not a problem, sure, why not get one. If money is still part of life, well, then there's Porsches on the high end and the twins on the low end.

Lots Of Trouble Usually Serious

But they are a beautiful car. There are a handful of them in this area and they are drroolworthy. Plus to have a car with Colin Chapman's DNA in it? But they are infamously fickle and unreliable.

Oh hell no. 86, supercharge, and some suspension goodies takes you to half that price with much more fun. Where do they get these prices from? Just the fact that it's a racecar?
