No CEL leads me to think this might be a fuel starve issue.

Only issue I have ever had with ignition is a CEL P035X "Coil circuit malfunction". The car didn't act any different. Just threw the code.

Hmm interesting. I has considered fuel starve as well (was down to around 1/4 tank) but strange that it would happen at the end of a long straight section.

You can get a coil issue and have mis-fires but not enough to trigger Cell. My guess its signs that one of your coils are going. I always have triggered the failure at the top of 4 bouncing redline cause no point in shifting. Button Willow long straight before sunset on 13CW
