wow, all this over some lipstick? Can't imagine what you'd do if someone wrote "wash me!" in the dirt on your bumper. I bet there would be some serious hell to pay though.

Wouldn't be worth it over lipstick. Now if someone threw eggs on your car, or something that can cause real damage then I would go and file a report.

Quite amazed at how much response I'm getting in this thread -- positive or negative.

Feed back is always appreciated, and opinions are taken into consideration -- thank you all.

As an update, I've received the person's address and already spoke to their parents. We've settled this amicably.

I thanked your post because I'm in support of what you're trying. I live near some dive bars and I hate stupid teenagers and ppl just old enough to drink loitering in my parking lot trying to fuck with my car when I'm not around.

Thanks, there are a lot of kids that just don't respect other people's properties and think it's fun to screw with people. I guess I'm a big believer in disciplining your child when they misbehave and the rest does not. Everyone is talking about being the bigger person and just letting it go. I think that's a big mistake, we leave shit like this unattended and we give chances to produce people with real psychological issues (eg. Narcissistic and children with real behavioral problems). We're making too many excuses for misbehavior, some may be legitimate, some may not. There's an exception to every rule, but when you begin to reason with a 5 year old or 10 year old, or a teenager when they've done something wrong -- then there's some re-evaluation of your parenting to be done.

Children will rage quit on responsibility or respect if given the chance. I thank my parents for every beating I got, because honestly without their guidance I wouldn't be humble and probably be one of those a**hole children now with no responsibilities.

True that, and speaking of responsibility- I asked my leaseholder to install security cameras in the parking lot to assist in deterring and prosecuting crime (theft, vandilism). They said no, because of "liability"? Doesn't make sense.

I can understand that, because they don't want to have liability of you falling and getting that recorded, or having someone else get hurt on their property and suing them. Without recorded material they would less likely be liable unless there were witnesses that were unrelated to the victim.

I'd say buy one yourself and post it there. THen they would be liable regardless. There are battery powered wireless systems that can be scheduled now based on your life style so you can record when you park there only.
