We had a 18 LE at my dealership but can't post up any photos yet. Car looks MUCH better in person and sits a inch lower than the previous models and is also longer. Base LE gets Alloy wheels standard now and a butt ton of other things.
Front grille looks similar to tC2 front bumper but looks good on how they integrated everything up front. Seats are comfy as all hell and 4 cyl motor finally breaks the 200 hp range. If anything else comes up I'll bring it up (as long as I don't forget)

I work at Toyota and seriously no bias but I personally feel its in the top 5 for best looking production car excluding super cars. In person its crazy. They haven't publicly released specs for HP or TQ from what I've seen or MPG but all of them went up. I'm truly impressed and most will be too.

My timeline must have shifted since the new Camry XSE now looks better than the new Civic Type-R.

I really shouldn't like this car, but for some reason I do in V6 XSE trim. Almost feel dirty for saying I want a Camry

I got quite a few brand new Camrys in the last few Uber rides I took, and in all of them I got car sick very very quickly. The ride quality was truly horrible... I hope they fixed that? I think the ones I was sitting in were 2017 models, but I didn't really pay attention. The interiors were pretty nice though.
Glad to see the new engine family come out though seeing how the basic 2AR-FE has been in service for nearly 10 years. 103mm stroke is really long. High volume cooled EGR and a 13:1 compression ratio are probably what give it most of its exceptional fuel efficiency. 35% thermal efficiency at <50% peak torque is jaw-dropping... If they're running 87 gas to get those numbers that is even crazier. |

I'm mixed on the grill treatment. The panel gap between the grill and the hood is questionable, though it really is most obvious with the the XSE trim. I'm also not a fan of the continuing trend towards generic horizontal taillights on mid size sedans.
Otherwise, I do like the black roof treatment, and the interior design looks nice, though the screen appears a bit small. Overall, it seems like Toyota has done a good job of making a car that will still appeal to the 60+ crowd while also offering something for the 28-48 year olds. Kuddos. |
