I don't think the "700" number is because of people building it less, it is because parts get progressively more expensive with that engine when you start going after big numbers.

I DD my 2JZ/V160 swapped FRS. It's detuned around 500whp right now for the street.

My weak link so far has been me blowing the rear end at the track. Other than that, it's been great.

If I saw someone selling one for $3k, I would pick that up on the spot! haha

Depends a lot on what each individual defines "DD" as. Somebody doing a few miles of open roads or running some errands it may be just fine. Somebody that does mega commutes (like my 14 hours/750 miles a week) on the highway or long tedious drives through city stop and go traffic may have bigger issues.
All of our views of what constitutes daily driving can be very, very different. For me a 300+ DD would be just plain silly and a 500+ would be right out of the question.

I am curious to see if a/c is retained, management used, and turbo set up is done. I am sure the project will be done well and meat the owners expectations.

haha thats awesome that you dd at that power level. I'm sincerely jealous lol. Just out of curiosity is the diff that you're blowing up or axles? I've only heard and read online (I know if its on the interwebs it must be true) that the diff is pretty strong. You've got real life experience so whats the honest truth?

I blew up my differential at the track. I had an M85 diff out of an IS300.

I've been tossing around the idea of doing this swap for a while, but didn't actually decide to pull the trigger until a plug and play (canbus friendly) ecu came out for a decent price. Now that you can get one for 2 grand and mounts are available, I think this swap will start to become a lot more attainable.

As a budget swap, putting a CD009 might be more feasible IMHO. Yes a bit of hammering and moving around will be needed, but in the long run its a smarter option.

We entertained that swap, but the amount of supporting parts needed, overcame the price we got on the R154.
