The FACT that narrow tires are superior in most types of snow and ice conditions is well documented. look it up if you don't believe me.
Sure there may be the very rare instance that deflating your tires may have a slight advantage but telling people to do it for all conditions is just foolish. Tire of all types work best when inflated to the recommended pressures.

Mostly just getting opinion one way or the other regarding wider vs narrower tires. Do you have any actual documentation where lower pressure was found to be inferior to higher pressure in the snow?

Why did I let myself be dragged here?!
I run 205 snow tires. Didn't want narrower because I couldn't find narrower than 7.5" wheels that cleared the brakes. Not that I drive in the winter anyway any more. Just in case. Narrower is better. I've had the tail of a pick up blown out from behind me, back when I owned one. rwd S10. With a cap, 4 cyl, and manual transmission.
The twins are amazing in the snow. It's still snow. Snow tires don't fix too fast for conditions.

yeah, I stare at the other front calipers and wonder if it's worth swapping that too. I have the vanilla ones. Also still have the Performance Pack Brembo setup tucked away.

For the "only in an emergency" I use my car... nope. AP Sprint stay on the car.

40* with 15mph winds is warm enough to wash a car, isn't it?
