Marketing irony and email.

See the pic?

This is the letter I sent to the manufacturers:

"Dear Sir/Madam,
With regards to your "Gravox Traditional gravy".
I don't suppose you see the irony of calling your powder in-a-can gravy "traditional".
From http://www.thefreedictionary.com/tradition
"1. the handing down from generation to generation of the same customs, beliefs, etc, esp by word of mouth
2. the body of customs, thought, practices, etc, belonging to a particular country, people, family, or institution over a relatively long period
3. a specific custom or practice of long standing"

I don't believe this product fulfills the definition of "traditional" but hey. It's just marketing, right?

By the way this bears absolutely no resemblance to the gravy my mother used to make.

Regards,
***. "

I await their reply.

100% traditional in North America since they have been canning gravy for many generations

Besides it says Gravix traditional not Mother Snooze traditional.

Is it straight-weight, or multi-viscosity gravy? I think SAE 30 is considered traditional, right?

Given gravy's range of operating temperature I'm guessing multi-viscosity might be the way to go.

It's gotta be detergent, though, cuz it'll clean you right out.

20 is traditional. In a few years 30 will but right now it's new money

The last time I wrote a letter was to my lawyer. Had to be handwritten for some reason or another. That was earlier in the year.

Before that... Probably 7-8 years ago during sophomore year of high school. lol

Can't one send a letter via email?
The communication I sent electronically looked like a letter to me. Archaic term perhaps.
