No grip no fun

Need tire and wheel knowledge for drag radials. im running 18x9.5+45 on 265/35/18r comp tires(not so good but “decent” grip when heated)im Supercharged and need grip from a standstill current tires are just not cutting it. I would like to only have radials on the rear if possible(wheel prices went up). Whats the best size rim and tire for 400rwhp?

If you want more rear grip, the issues you are seeing may not only be tire choice. But, tire choice is still important.

If you want more grip from a dig things to do:
1: Evaluate your suspension. Most aftermarket coilovers are a terrible option if you want to drag race. They are too stiff and don't allow weight transfer.
2: Tires - Today's 200tw tires are sticky, but have stiff sidewall, which isn't good for getting out of a dig.
3: Wheels - The larger the wheel, the less sidewall. Less sidewall = less ability for the tire to take some of the shock and "wrinkle" which will put more load back to your axles/diff

IMO, with that much power and a light chassis, you need something in the 200TW category. Hell, for launching at autocross, my 200TW A052's spin tire with stock power levels - couldn't imagine what a 400whp motor would do.
