Dowel/locating pin. Camshaft sub assembly

So 1 of the 2 locating/dowel pin fell out of my camshaft sub assembly. The pin is too small for the bolt to go through. Im trying to look for the part number for it.

But i think id have to purchase the whole cam carrier assembly. I checked and the pins on the cam caps are the same size. If anyone have an extra cam cap with a dowel ill buy it. Rather not spend $150 for a pin.

I'll dig through my parts tonight and see what I have. I still have my whole scrap motor in my recycle bin and all the fasteners and dowels I saved off of it are around the shop somewhere in a plastic sorted container.

Maybe I'm unlucky, but the bolt that was stuck in the pin is now ruined. I called a 4 local dealerships and fastest it'll get to me is 2 days from now. so build will stall cause of that and now this pin deal.

i appreciate it. i really do.
thanks for saving me for like the 2nd or 3rd time now. lol

Don't worry about it. I am sure from this experience you will pass on what you learned to others. These were just stuck to the cam carriers in my recycle bin to go to scrap anyway.

Definitely.

I havent replied in that thread about the shims but yes, i finally understand how to adjust the valve clearances in our FA20 motors.

I intend to update that one since researching it was a little harder to understand. Likewise, I'll update in layman's terms, meaning pictures, lol.

edit: its not a guide! But just some tips that are simplified. I have valve clearances where i want and motor is timed now. Below is the link for the valve clearance info.
