Hmmm they're not using Toyota's dual injection system. Hope Subaru's direct injection is as good as GM's DI engines or Ford's Ecoboost since buildup on the intake valves is very minimal on these engines with high mileage, unlike Audi's (especially the early 2.0Ts requiring a cleaning every 80-100K and the RS4's 4.2L V8 engine a lot more frequent).

Wonder if it's a pedestrian safety thing or insurance thing? I have to say though, works better for rock chip protection for the hood edges.

Very much a pedestrian safety thing. New BMW 3 series has this as well, and Lexus ES. Will see it more and more. Moving the hard edge line further away from the front of the car.

Decent comparison, sort of. It only talks about impressions & the back seat can comfortably fit children (I've seen it in person do so, with 2 adults up front), so the driver's bias shines through just a tad too much I think.

It'll require enough significant rerouting of pipes, etc that one might as well just get a turbo kit for our fa20 & put the WRX pistons in it.

Subaru has gone ugly since about 2007, and Honda since the late 90s. Audi still makes the most beautiful cars in modern times but they sit so high it's borderline like sitting on the toilet but holding a steering wheel instead of the morning paper (the Matrix and Yaris are the biggest offenders).

Actually all modern Imprezas are ugly once a GC shows up along side it. Just like how the RX-8 looks alright until a FD parks beside it.

well subaru hit it out the park with the BRZ so i guess theyre trying to incorporate a consistent design philosophy. just sucks that the new wrx looks too much like an evo. its almost like theyve conceded defeat...

Go for a drive in a stock wrx after spending a few thousand miles in a stock BRZ. You'll see.

What the wrx has that the BRZ doesn't: space, height, Winter chops, mid range punch, lovely exhaust note. If you can live without (or live with mods for power, exhaust), BRZ is better on everything else.
