It's also good for potato and sweet potato fries. if you spritz them with oil they turn out pretty well.

if we need larger batches, our Samsung convection oven works just as well though.
That's nice, but I'm talken FRIED chicken here, an inch of lard in a cast iron skillet, chicken well seasoned (lots of salt) and covered with flour.

Yep, back on the farm we had the iron skillet from my grandmother, we rendered the lard from butchering our hogs, we raised our own chickens, fed from the corn and wheat we grew on the farm and we made our own butter.

Now, I ask you, eating like that, how in the hell did my grandfather live to be 89 years old, my father lived to be 94 years old and I will be 77 next month?

Because, work helped to balance the food intake... Now we don't work so hard but maintain a high calorie intake.. something has to give... Clothes get bigger and lives get shorter.. however, there are exceptions to the rule, you work hard bringing up your young family so chicken cooked in lard is great for your capacity..

Thanks @soundman98, sounds like replacing the entire fixtures would be easiest in my case. There are only 3 and are 30 years old.

Yep, I reckon so. After a large meal of lard-fried chicken and mashed potatoes with lots of butter, we would go back out to the hay fields. In a few hours, I figure we burnt off most of the calories and cholesterol.

Super sweet write up about Indonesia's Black Auto Battle. Was pretty meh until I saw the Beetle and the lingerie pattern engraved turbo! Not my flavor but, some wicked attention to details.

I probably should read it again too. It's probably been 20 years, and I bet I'll understand completely different things now.

Ive never been a huge fan of donk, or dub cars or low riders

but i can appreciate the insane level of detail on some of those cars.

that VW beetle with the etching is hella tight.

Id feel bad about rolling around in it though

Right? I thumbed through a bunch of quotes from the book earlier today and realized how much I had forgotten that resonated in a whole new way.

Yeah I’m right there with you. Though I doubt these cars see much road time. At that point, their only purpose is show. Pretty much a super expensive canvas. But yeah super cool
