Lust's 2017 CSG Varis BRZ Track Build

Excited to take delivery of my new BRZ yesterday! This is the second 86 that I've owned and I have a lot planned for the car. This will be my "daily driver" until it eventually becomes more and more of a track car. I hope to grow with the car as I become more experienced driver on/off the track.

After having the car sit in the shop for a few months, I deiced to buy a new daily driver. So this is now a dedicated track car and I'll be daily driving an 09 Civic SI.

I have reached out to @CSG David from Counterspace Garage and they have decided to support the build. Many thanks!

If anyone has questions about anything 86 related, him and Mike are the guys to talk to. If they can deal with my never ending list of questions and indecisiveness then they certainly can help you.

Installed my Varis hood and aero catch today. Did a detail and wax as well. Should look more in place when the rest of the kit arrives.

Varis parts are being inspected by customs and should arrive soon. Hopefully they don't find the secret heroine stash...

In the meantime here's some suspension goodies. I got a used set of RCE Tarmac 2's for a decent price. The SPL lower control arms are being reused from the last FRS since they worked so well. I also picked up some Raceseng CasCams to "top" it off.

Just finished installing the suspension components. Ran into a small issue with the SPL arms. Unfortunately they don't have a slot for the auto leveling headlight feature. Guess I'll have to drill a hole or order a new arm. Rest of the install was a breeze. These Raceseng mounts are pretty trick. I roughly set ride height at a two finger gap or 26".

Next step is to drop the car off at Status Auto Inc and have a proper alignment and corner balance done.

Very nice, I just picked up the same wheels. You have any rubbing with the 265/35's tires? I ending up going with some 245/35's but may upgrade on the next pair.

Great choice in wheels.

There's some rubbing in the rear mainly from the bumper tab. The fronts rub on full lock. There's an area on the front fender where it flares out near the side marker which I'm going to have rolled. As time goes on I'll see if I need to trim or roll the rear. You can go up to 255s with almost no rub at all depending how low you are and what your camber is

So instead of just drilling a hole for my headlight sensor, I decided to place an order for new SPL control arms. During that same time I said screw it and also ordered some SPL toe arms with the eccentric lock out. Should be arriving in the next few days! Still need to find an oil cooler solution for the '17 BRZ...

I ran into the same issue for the headlight sensors for my '17 86 with PBM LCA's. I opted to remove the arm and twisted the positioning piece on the sensor itself until the headlights were at a reasonable level. Haven't had an issue with it since.

I guess I just wanted a reason to buy new arms lol. Oh well. At least the feature will work as intended

One goodie arrived on my doorstep today. Planning to hit the track for my very first time in August! BridgeMoto Competition Pro Helmet SAH2015. Should be a great entry level helmet to get me started.
