Some people in the NG go to BCT in the summer between their junior and senior year in high school, but not sure that's what happened. I thought you had to be 17 to do that with parental permission.

You do have to be 17 to go to basic. I spent nine years in the Army myself as a parachute rigger.

Thought so. Maybe he was a soldier of fortune

. I went back in 2002 into ADA, and lost 4 1/2 years of time in service on a green to gold scholarship. Wish I did the active duty option.
