agreed when it is a functional part that is sticker bombed it cab be because these cars are being used for their original purpose they are not trailer queens. Yes sometimes it is done purely for style but if you dont like it then you dont like it. Please tell me that all of the mods that you do are COMPLETELY functional and that you are not beautifying your car....oh and this does not mean that it is my style or anything i just see no point in a group of "GROWN" men bitching as if they needed a change of panties

History lesson - this originated from street artists, who as you may know, arent extravagantly paid. This means that those lucky enough to own a car, typically have significant paint issues, Sticker bombing was a way to recreate street/graffiti-esque style, cover the peeling/rusting paint in a fun and quirky way. It kinda took off after the whole "rust bucket" phase developed in the bmw and volkswagen scene started to die down. The objective in that, was to intentionally rust the entire car, or just the hood as a style. Once they did this, they quickly realized they needed to cover up the hideous rust, and what cheaper way to do so than to sticker bomb it.
This brings us to today, in which you see a sticker bombed car and 99% of the time, its a volkswagen or honda civic being driven by a young, acne-faced kid wearing a plaid shirt and a sideways hat which could only be what I imagine kurt kobaines turds would look like if they were forced to dress up and enter public view.

Garage walls, toolboxes and hardhats are about the only things that get stickerbombed in my book.
My biggest question is to the ones who bomb the cars paint. The windows I can understand..but the paint? |

I guess I worded my statement wrong to imply that I was putting it down. I understand cosmetic mods are done to the user's own sense of style, I was trying to figure out where this originated from or whether or not it was even real. I know people say it is not your car so why even say anything, but this is a forum. The entire point of this forum is to express opinions and ideas and get feedback on them. I think if people are putting stickerbombed cars on the forum, I should have the ability to comment on the topic. I think you would find that there is a majority of threads that don't "help" anyone.
I will be more careful in my wording next time, although it was my opinion at the time. Quote:

personally I don't like, but people make what they want with their cars, house or whatever.
I don't understand tons of things but I respect people. |

It a form of expression, I've seen it done subtitle and nicely and I've seen it done pretty distastefully and horribly.
But when you insult an artist directly, there's no winning there.

Regardless of the fact that it's not physically my car, I still share the same model and when I see someone disgrace its beauty with stickerbombing, stancing, neon-justatea24packofcrayons vomit colored wheels, I cannot help but feel resentment.
I'm a laid-back dude, but stupidity irks me. I am intolerant of intolerable things. /end
