Update:

I flashed the ECU this morning. Its an EcuTek Stage 1 RaceRom from @Visconti. First, John is a great person to work with. Hes constantly improving the way this car runs. Hes a dedicated person too, he's been helping people flash their tunes at all times of the day, even on weekends (he called me this morning to walk me through everything).

Anyway, I should see better gas mileage on this tune (if I can keep my foot out of it) and 5-10hp (Ill be hitting the dyno soon). The infamous torque dip is nearly gone. This thing pulls. Whats better is the car no longer has a 7400rpm red line, its now 7800rpm. That means 62-63mph in second, which obviously means 60 comes quicker. The engine sounds better too. The throttle is more direct, heel-toe downshifting is much easier. I pulled out to the main road on my test drive earlier and gave it some gas in second gear. I couldnt wipe the smile off my face.

If you havent looked into the tune, go into the Group Buy section in the Commercial Classifieds and take a look. Theres about a $200 discount on the stage 1 tune, cable, and license.

Your car looks fantastic! It's great how much the right wheels, lowering it, and a proper exhaust improve the look of this already-sexy car. I don't think I'm going to do much else to mine when I get it. Maybe the 5Axis spoiler and sharkfin antenna and call it a day!

Thanks guys! I should have another update this evening, but I may need to postpone that until tomorrow.

@eightsix - Yea, it's difficult to find a clean import in this area. Tons of nice classics, but most imports are beat .

My Airaid intake came in a day early, and I couldn't stop myself from installing it right away.

The install was very straight forward, and the instructions were great. The sound is very nice too. Its nice and throaty at WOT but silent when cruising. Throttle response is slightly improved as well.

I still feel that the car doesnt rev as freely as it should, so in a few months Ill be looking at clutch kits.

I am just re-realizing you already have the retroquik's installed. I am thinking of maybe getting some and myself and my buddy from Custom Lightz will install them.

How have they been treating you? I am pretty impressed with the stock headlights so I would definitely like to compare side by side before deciding. Anyhow hope to make it tomorrow.

Its been a while since I've updated. Instead of making individual posts as I have been, Ill just compile them into one.

2012-08-26

My SRT catted header back exhaust came in (large resonator).

Had to get the car pretty high up there to comfortably install everything. Total install time - ~3hrs.

2012-09-04:

2012-09-16:

Four months to the day after purchasing the car I rolled 12k miles as I turned onto my block on my way home from work.

They work well. I honestly thought the stock projectors sucked though, so I couldnt wait to get the MH1s in. But, the MH1s are no match for my RX350s which may or may not find their way into the FR-S.
