Fumoto valve quick question

I installed mine today and I got the one with the small plastic nipple extension. I put it on with it and it extended about .5 to 1cm past the undertray. I didn't want to lose it so I took it off. Are you supposed to leave it on? Will it wear out (get loose/not fit) if I take it on and off with each oil change?

What is the point of putting a quik valve on if you plan to take it off for oil changes?? The whole point of a quik valve is to leave it on there forever.

May be I did not fully understand the question...

I have a feeling he may be talking about the nipple extension piece that you can slip a piece of tubing on, not the whole valve.

Yes, it's a white snap on nipple. The fumoto valve has a very short nipple the extension is about an inch long. The white piece in the picture below.

Take the plastic nipple off. You won't wear it out any time soon. You're only going to be using it every 3500 to 7000 miles.

Detailed Questions about Fumoto Valves

I have some specific questions about the Fumoto Valve for the BRZ:

1: i thought the oil drain size is the same with FRS and BRZ, but on their website the part number is different. For FRS is F-103(N) and for BRZ it's F-105(N). I drive a BRZ, should i trust their site measurement just get the F-105?

2: On their website it says that if you use it for off-road vehicles, it's recommended to use a hose clip. Any of you guys use a hose clip on the twins? I'm a LITTLE worried about it being accidentally turned-on and drain the oil when i'm driving.

3. Has anyone experienced dirty or road salt clogging the opening?

4. When installing, what's the torque spec?

5. and where do you get the white plastic snap-on nipple? I don't see on their website.

Thanks

Eh? Thought we used the F108?

The N doesn't come with the white nipple since it has a long nipple already. The S uses the white nipple.

Torque to 29 ft lbs.

There's an optional wire clip that prevents the valve from moving.
