NV Auto - Hamilton

Does anyone have any experience with these guys? From Speed Academy youtube videos, NV Auto has a few appearances and they seem to know subies quite well.

I'm new in the car scene, and I need a reputable shop to install my JRSC kit.

Had my racecar aligned there and they made me a pair of custom brake lines when I noticed one of mine was damaged. Great guys and they know high performance. Many mechanics, even the good ones, are out of their element doing special high performance work, so they're learning as they go. These guys do it on a regular basis so you can have peace of mind of them not only doing the work right but also have your back with knowing any additional concerns that you only learn through experience.

Yep, they're good people. Don't let Dov's Focus RS sway you, they still know Subaru's

That said, if you do still live in North Bay, there might be something substantially closer that will do a good job.

I had them install a up-pipe on my wrx back in the day. Seemed like a reliable shop. I never went to them again though since they are far away.

They probably won't be the cheapest option, but they're also a quality shop that knows what they're doing and cares about quality. If you're after the cheapest quote, find a shady shop that won't stand behind their work.

There are a few shops in the GTA that are quite experienced with Subarus.

I can think of two (Apex and iGarage) near Markham, two in Mississauga (Cyrious and Touge), Can-am in Thornhill, and NV in Hamilton. They all have their strengths, some are more oriented to high performance than others.

NV seems to do a lot of big stuff like grafting JDM engines into Canadian cars. They must be capable.

Can-am are the only ones I dont hear tons about but I do know they built the Subaru rally cars in the day and I have seen their race car (one, anyway) and it is a pro racecar right down to the built in hydraulic jacks. I'd expect them to be catering to serious racers as well as high budget projects.

Cyrious is a hardcore drifter and the Scion Drift poster guy for a few years, also has done FI installs for lots of twins.

Never heard bad stuff about ANY of these shops. iGarage put in my blower btw.

they installed mine. No issues with it. Quality install too, Nam took extra time to ensure everything was good and made sure to zip tie cables and stuff so everything looks cleaner

edit: been using them since i bought the car new in 2013. zero issues with everything they did. Roughly around $3000-4000 spent in maintenance/parts/install in 3 years.

Are you sure they built Pat's car? Pat has his own shop, and I'm pretty sure they didn't outsource the work.

NV does have a Formula D pro 2JZ BRZ (now 86) driven by Riley Sexsmith, they also have a 2JZ STI for non Formula D events too.

I've used NV Auto for a few things now. They're not the cheapest, but they're knowledgeable and definitely know their way around a Subaru.

They did my clutch, rear subframe/diff bushings, coilover install and alignment on my BRZ.

They also did my corner balance/alignment on my SW20. Both times everything went great.

To be honest I dont know 100% where Pats car was done but they do good, reliable JZ swaps (expensively) From the last time I spoke to Riley sounded like they all worked on Pats FRS together
