That's the plan. The last thing I want is to get my fins stolen off my car.

Had a silly idea too of running fake CF garnishes for whenever I drive around in shady areas...

Makes little difference, they will take most of the car anyway -

" I would like to inform you that, this headlight is manufactured to the factory OEM specifications of your vehicle for plug & play installation and easy fitment. Simply remove factory headlights and bolt in these new, plug them into your factory headlight harness and they are ready to go. However, additional wiring is required for halos and LEDs "

So, yes, they are plug-and-play, as long as you want them to partially work. If you want them to fully work, well that's on you.

I know its not a big deal to do the extra wiring, but vendors at least mention what is required somewhere in your advertisements, and maybe offer a harness for an extra fee...

That would be a pass from me.

Have you considered buying replacement housings and having a paint shop spray them with clear? I have a buddy who paints and has done that for me a couple times. Holds up really well.

I have, but I really hate the chrome ones that came with the '13 Scion. I've always wanted to update them. Now, the driver side one is not only yellowed but is cracking. The passenger side one looks fine oddly enough.

I think the driver side one was "stressed" when I had my fender bender a couple of years ago as that corner is what took the brunt of the light impact.

That's a lot of trouble and effort just so that you can drive around "dodgy" areas. Do you just drive or park and ride? As I can't imagine anyone nicking your garnishes whilst driving but if parking and riding then perhaps the opportunity may arise...

Yeah pretty much that. You are indeed correct, it is a lot of trouble to go through just to avoid shady areas which is why I acknowledged it was silly. Just somewhat paranoid since TRD CF fins are a hot item since being discontinued and I have unfortunately heard stories of thieves ripping the fins straight out of the car.

I'll be taking off the fins later on to add the double-sided tape seeing as how I'm going to be having a shop add a vinyl stripe to complement them.

I'm sure there are much "hotter" things in the "dodgy" areas.. still don't understand why you are visiting such areas??

Pretty much the whole city is a dodgy area. Or rather, a good amount of it is and it's unavoidable most of the time. Also, even in a good area thieves will still take shit.
