I wish I could find a deal like this!

In my area, I've been getting a lot of dealerships that are oddly rigid with the BRZ pricing. The best I've been able to get people haggle down to is $29k ('19 Limited, Popular Package #2). I'm just not at all willing to pay this, I got a '13 Limited (R.I.P.) with 4k on the clock for $21k back in 2014, while the car was still considered "HOT". A few of the BRZs around me have been sitting on the lots for MONTHS and not even being test driven (they're picking up dust, rotors rusted etc). Any advice?

For me, I figured the dealerships had to get rid of the 2018s to make room for the 2019s so I was able to leverage that. With the 2019s, it may be a little harder but I think it's doable. Try to see how long the dealerships have had the specific car you want and use it to your advantage. PM if you need any more info!

I have two quotes right now

2018 PP car 17k miles CPO 24k

2019 PP car new 27k

What do you guys think? Deals should get better later in the year? I am not in need of a car urgently so i can afford to wait till the end of the year. Looks like some of you guys picked up a new 2018 for less than what I've been quoted for a CPO one.

Take the new one.. try and find a Subaru Ambassador coupon for 500 and you’ll be at 26500. Don’t buy a used one.

At that price difference... Go with the new. You'll be paying minimal difference on monthly payments with the $3k difference and you'll be getting a brand new car with peace of mind plus that new car smell Just baby the car the first 1k mies and you'll be good to go~

You also never know how hard the first owner drove the first 17k miles on the 18' PP. Talk about sloppy seconds. Heck I'm at about 9.4k miles and I've driven mine pretty hard already lol.

I'd say wait until the 2020's are announced(usually in September) and see what's new with those. The 2019's will definitely go down in price a bit and you might be able to negotiate even more.

Factor in TTL, and it seems to amount to more/less the same out-the-door price.

For the record, I got my '17 Limited PP + Package 2 for 27.9k absolute-final-including-fees-out-the-door price.
Yup... I looked around the Portland area when shopping around last year and prices were always steep with little to no incentive (plus none around town had a red with PP)... Had to drive to Bellevue to get mine with 76 miles for $25k OTD which turned out to be a killer deal . Thank God I also didn't have to pay sales tax, just the Oregon use tax (1/2 of 1% of MSRP). Best of both worlds! Only shopping in Washington for new cars in the future now....

This^

And

Check the finance rates (if going that route). The rates for new cars are usually much better than on used. You could end up paying less for the new one!

If I were you and if 3-4K would not collapse my financial situation:

1) I would forget about the 2018 and get the brand new 2019 with the new car smell as mentioned before

2) would wait a few more months, see the 2020 (the little differences) and consider having a very recent one.

Of course it’s up to you and most importantly, you will enjoy whichever you will get

Thanks

Guys I am torn about this decision.
These are my two options:

$26K 800 miles for an 86 TRD

OR

$29K New BRZ PP

I am just wondering if the extra 3K is worth it for the new BRZ PP.
