Meh, my brakes are beginning to make a weird squeal. 40K Miles. Guess is time to start looking for brakes.

They are on the ends of the axles right behind the wheels. Bad design though since it is very hard to see the pads.

But really, I get a faint squeal whenever I'm braking in low speed zones. Highway feels fine, no vibration on pedals. Pedal travel is about the same. Im thinking OEM rotors and whatever people recommend for pads.

This of course comes with the qualifier that brake wear is totally dependent on each individual's driving habits but you are still very low miles for the brakes on these cars. https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=115957 https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?t=136777

Yep, I did read both of those threads. I barely have to heavily use the brakes because I just use the transmission. How the previous owner, for the first 13K drove, that's anyone's guess. Never had them inspected because I've been doing all the maintenance work. It does need a tire rotation, so I'll ask the the technician if he can check or let me check before committing to any purchases.

Yeah, same here, plus way more versatile and you don't have to get wet. As long as it's quick enough to tow something at least you can enjoy an outing with other people.
