Meh, my brakes are beginning to make a weird squeal. 40K Miles. Guess is time to start looking for brakes.

They are on the ends of the axles right behind the wheels. Bad design though since it is very hard to see the pads.

Im thinking OEM rotors and whatever people recommend for pads.

Inspect first. Squeal may be just contamination. Unless you are really hammering them the rotors should still be fine at 40K. Hell even the pads should last longer than 40K!
This of course comes with the qualifier that brake wear is totally dependent on each individual's driving habits but you are still very low miles for the brakes on these cars.

Yep, I did read both of those threads. I barely have to heavily use the brakes because I just use the transmission. How the previous owner, for the first 13K drove, that's anyone's guess. Never had them inspected because I've been doing all the maintenance work.

It does need a tire rotation, so I'll ask the the technician if he can check or let me check before committing to any purchases.

Yeah, same here, plus way more versatile and you don't have to get wet. As long as it's quick enough to tow something at least you can enjoy an outing with other people.

I'm with @NoHaveMSG on this one. I've found that after maybe an hour, I've had enough fun, Unless I'm using for another purpose other than just riding around aimlessly I personally wouldn't own one, just rent it when I want to enjoy it.

If somebody had told me 20 years ago that I would be more than happy with a boat that only does a max of 15MPH I would have said they were nuts.
All depend upon what you find fun I guess. I have zero interest now in speed and we still have loads of fun just cruising and fishing.

A little bit quicker would be nice. Kind of fun to be able to tow a tube every now and then. My buddy and I are looking to go half and half on a boat and if it can do 25ish with a tube behind it I would be happy. Otherwise it will just be a fishing and mobile swim platform.

I have a bunch of wealthy friends that all have nice ski boats, the only thing they use them for is to lash together and hang out on lol
