I put it on the subreddit and someone suggested to use powdered laundry detergent to flush....

I'm not going to try it, but I was intrigued

I feel like mine was caused by mixing different coolants. What do you think your issue be?

Well, since it didn't smell like anything but coolant (no oil/petroleum smell), what I'm finding was that it's residue in the system. I use Water Wetter and everything I can find says that would potentially cause this. A mix of different coolants could also cause it.

I still have a little more inspection to do but it might be just fine. I'll do a pressure test to rule that out and do some other checks and I should be OK hopefully.

Technically, I did this a couple years ago, but missed posting about it then. I got this off ali express for a pretty good price and am pretty happy with how it turned out. My OEM wheel was peeling in spots. It took a little time and it didn't fit perfectly (there's a little wrinkle on the back side I had to learn to live with), but other than that, I actually like the slightly thicker feel and actually think it's improved look and feel over the original.
I also recently installed the OEM STI Aero kit after looking at it for ... a long time. And changed the coolant myself for the first time. Not too bad and I love how the tube in the reservoir could double as the drain tube at the bottom.
