And yes I've done all 4.

We used to have a great place in San Jose with 4 tracks and a drag track. Then everyone started buying their parts online cheaper and he had to close shop. Idiots.

Here is my HO track. Each lane is 70 feet. Modern cars with a good driver can get laps in seconds. I have an excel spreadsheet with the best times on the track computer. I'll have to look it up.

Which reminds me, I need to get my butt out in the garage and start working. I want the track working again by this summer.

Yeah I only flew a real model a few times when I was a kid before moving on lol. Though I have hours and hours on Realflight RC simulator.

Hey, I did the same thing first time I tried to land 8 Wing's old C-130 simulator. The instructor hit me with a cross wind just as I was about to touch down. My race instincts kicked in and turned the yoke instead of kicking the rudder. Dug the wing tip in and did a big old ground loop.

I'd love to try out their new J model but, sym time is expensive and I don't have that connection any more.

That does look fun...

What's not fun is sitting in a crowded MVA getting MD licenses...

When my son was in high school, the Dad of a buddy of his was responsible for the F22 simulators at Dobbins Air Force Base. He got invited to go try them out. I was seriously jealous, but couldn't weasel my way in.

When he got back and I asked him how it was he said "Yea, it was OK". Only time I felt like he needed some corporal punishment applied.

My dad built his own plane, a Health Parasol powered by an in-line four cylinder Henderson motorcycle engine.

Same with cars too. Sim doesn't have enough sense of speed or rotation besides wheel feel. RC is like trying to play a top down video game with a TV that moves farther or closer to you.

I did get my RC truck up to 57mph on the radar gun in the parking lot the other day. Then it hit a pine cone, caught air under the body, and kart wheeled a pretty good distance.

Notice in that video how the camera is never pointed at me? I still can't fly anything toward myself.
