difficult to say actually, with the Low resolution of oft logs and without The detailed logging of ecutek.. could be just a wrong maf scaling

Hey all,

I was seeing if someone could take a look at a datalog I took last night.

A couple months I went from stage 1 to stage 2 and thought I noticed a power increase, but at my most recent track day I was hitting a lower speed on the main straight (112mph stage 1, 109mph stage 2).

This is a Wayno tune with the "neutral" AFR setting, but there is a tune that is "-2%" leaner and I want to know if it's looking safe for me to run that.

https://datazap.me/u/norcalpb/brz-st...-9-10-11-13-14

Thank you!
Steve

So I decided to actually somewhat teach myself this stuff and it looks like I'm at 11.83 AFR @ 6.5k rpm, with 12 AFR commanded.

I know that going 2% leaner will make my AFR somewhere around 12.08 which I am reading is "slightly lean" but is this safe for track use?

Open Flash tablet on 91 octane.

That s actually pretty good, the value command afr is always bugged with oft, i mean that has an offset so when you see command afr of 12, actually is around 11.84... your maf scaling is quite good, could be a little but better but i wouldnt flash the -2% lean tune

Keep this and if you want to make it leaner do it but make it leaner one-step in the primary open loop fueling from 5600 to redline

But you also need to fix the ignition timing B table and fix those flkc you are gettingq that are also drooping lightly the advance multiplier

Since you have those corrections, you won t get it faster than this.. and i wouldnt make it leaner with 91oct... i would make it richer actually
If you need help with this you can write me, for more power you need a better fuel

Hello all,

I flashed my 2014 AT6 BRZ a few weeks ago with Wayne's default Stg1 91 v168.

Just did a couple of 3rd gear 2'000-6'500 pulls today, as instructed. It was not easy as I don't really have anywhere to do it safely where I live. Still, I managed to make at least 2.

What do you guys think about this log ?

https://datazap.me/u/ginkei/log-1652...g=0&data=1-2-9

I have the impression that it's running rich, AFR is 11-11.25 at 6'500. What about everyday RPM range ?

The BRZ is full stock, stock intake and stock exhaust. Thanks for your insights.

yes it s not so bad, a bit annoying the +5 ltft that set on open loop as it should t be needed there in your case

You could try the lean - 2% Version, to see what kind of afr and ltft you get, maybe it'll set on a bit leaner afr and will pull a bit harder

That s the kind of things you get for using OTS tunes.. either you accept the amount of errors in the fueling and the general approximation.. or you get a custom tune in some way

I will try the 2% tune to see how it goes. The numbers on the log confirm the impression I had about it being a tad too rich. The car is not pulling as well as it should and the measured fuel consumption is also around 4-5% higher since the tune (with similar driving). Everything else is great though, I'm happy with that solution and the perf/price ratio. I could probably get an even better results with a custom made tune but as long as it's not too rich or too lean and therefore safe for the engine, as it's a daily driver, I only want the tune to be better than the stock one.

Hi all,

Back on my quest with Wayne's Stg1 on my '14 6AT. I switched to 91.100 2% Lean as discussed previously. As expected, my butt dyno told me that the car was pulling a little bit better. It runs smoother than stock and 91.100 default.

The thing is, after almost 500km on it, I still get a very annoying "torque loss" when in mid-lower rev range. For example in auto mode in city, when I take a 90° turn after a straight and step on the gas exiting the corner, it feels like the engine isn't catching up and lugs. I need to manually override and downshift 1 or 2 gears to get it to pull again. It wouldn't be so much of a problem on a manual car (and probably wouldn't notice anything), but on auto, it's really annoying.

Same happens if I'm coasting and need to accelerate for some reason. This was already happening with the 91.100 regular, but never on stock.

Also, when accelerating hard, I get some kind of "vtec" effect with low power until around 4000, and a change of noise and pull above. Is it normal? I mean, I'm aware of how VVT works on our FA20's, but I had the impression that it was more linear with stock and regular tunes.

Here's a datalog of a regular city driving from last weekend, maybe you guys can point out some hints of of it :

https://datazap.me/u/ginkei/log-1655...-3-6-9&solo=14

Does the IAT has anything to do with all this ? I also notice that my IAM is at 0.98 instead of 1.

OFT 4.03 E85 Stage 2+ 2014 6AT

FLKC seems to be going positive 5-6 and IAM dropping to 0.88.

E85 percentage is around 68% measured

https://datazap.me/u/derektm/oft-403...?log=0&data=21

Is this log normal?

it's not so bad

something more than 68% E would help run it better, but don' t worry too much

it's a bit on rich side and timings a bit too high for the E% you have

Do you think going flex fuel with a Wayne or Steve tune would be a lot better?

if you pay them to have a custom fined tuned Tune, yes
