The supra looks nice in person but didn't grab me the way the frs did 7 years ago.

With the 3 though, it isn't that they didn't add the grill, it looks more like they designed it with one, then remembered they didn't need it, so they blanked it out (my opinion only, but its what I see when I look at the front).

I'm all for no fake vents, etc, but that doesn't mean the car has to look like a used bar of soap either. Again, all personal preference of course.

If you expect air conditioning, you'll likely need a vent somewhere or other.

When the soap dries it gets that crack down the middle.

Pretty sure electric motors make a shit tin of heat when pressed.

That fan on the front of an alternator isn't just for looks.

I don't want this article to digress to an Apple vs The World argument. It is hard to argue about Apple's ethos being unique when almost all manufactures copy Apple's products and ethos now, and some may even shoot for a simpler design. Even Alienware, who has been known for aggressive and bold designs in the past, is starting to follow suit.

Small electric vehicles don't need radiators, which is why the Nissan Leaf still is air cooled, but could benefit from a radiator by most experts standards. Tesla's are more powerful and are faster, charging, electric vehicles from their inception, so they have radiators, but considering the power, they have far smaller systems than an equally, powerful, ICE vehicle. The new Roadster will contend with hypercars, and I doubt it will have 10 heat exchangers like the Chiron, but cooling is definitely a concern for electric cars like you said. Considering the space savings, the heat exchanger can lie flatter, so the front bumper doesn't need a giant opening.

I think the Alienware change is more a function of them being able to pack the required components for the performance they want into a smaller package now as technology has advanced and less about them trying to look like Apple. CPU and GPU power and cooling improvements between the generations has vastly improved, allowing for thinner design.

Apple has never been a performance leader (IMHO) but a style leader. They have traded off functionality in favor of design as far back as the original Mac.

Like I said, I don't want this thread to digress, so I'll just say, Alienware is an example among many. See the laptop link for many examples.

I'm not going to comment on the second paragraph.

There is a Supra on BaT right now. Wonder how much it will sell for?

Saw that pop up yesterday. Looks like its being offered by a dealer, although I didn't read all the comments to see if its a brand new (as in never registered) car.

23 miles.
First delivered to a dealer in New York
Clean Georgia title.

This thing has been around a bit all ready even if it was all on the back of a truck.

Yea it has. Missed the NY dealer portion. I think Shoferi on the BaT pretty much summed it up below.

maybe this should be required posting in any thread on the Supra...
