First month driving the car, you might find it to be on the load side.
Second month, you will be driving expecting the waste gate to open.
Third month on, you will drive in order to open the waste gate and enjoy the sound.

Yes we can. Price would be $150 extra and would add ~ 1 week to lead time. Our goal is have the basic kit's in stock so any option will add slightly to lead time.

It's pretty loud...

I personally have it recirculated on my car. Some of the other guys here at the shop make fun of me for it and prefer it open...It's all relative I guess

Thank you for taking the time to respond and talk to us about the new kit. It's been hard to find info on it and with the new price point it seems like a very strong contender to the SBD kit.

Ughhh so tempting but I've always hated the idea of modifying or removing the OEM crash bar.

What are people's thoughts between the SBD 400x kit and the new JDL kit?

SBD did kinda set the price standard, however we all know they are a Chinese based company that makes rep parts. Barring that their track record has been incredibly good in terms of reliability as well as power per dollar. Not to mention the kinda of customer support you get from Chris Riggs on the facebook group. They also tend to be very very open about the changes they makes and every year they improve the kit every way possible.

JDL as we know is an incredibly reputable company. As far as i know has their own R&D department and has spent a lot of time working with turbo companies and using tried and true original parts. Their customer service as far as i know is top notch and they stand by their product. The previous more expensive kits i do know have a very good track record as well.

I still dont know too much about the new kit. Is it the same as the previous single scroll kit offered for 4k? What might be missing? Whats different?

If I'm not mistaken, the new 400X kit has a 9 blade billet wheel and the 500X is an 11 blade. @spdbydesign is that correct?

There is a lot of members on the facebook page, most of the owners are very happy with the product. A few people had issues with boost creep, but I think that has been resolved with a ported waste gate.

I'm really interested in seeing a comparison between these two kits since both are very affordable options for someone like myself who isn't looking for anything north of 250-300whp.

The base kit has really always been around the $3200-$3300 range to be honest. I put the price up a bit on the site recently as there were some price increases from my vendors that took effect this past January.

As far as the new Turbo kits the main difference from our old kit is the following:

Outsourced Intercooler Kit vs Garrett/CSF Intercooler Core with custom fabricated entanks, and handmade pipes.

Precision 39mm Wastegate vs. Tial 38mm MVS wastegate

Turbosmart Vee Port Pro BOV vs. Tial Q BOV

CNC Mandrel Bend Manifold Runners vs. Hand fit and welded Manifold runners.

The idea was to still use High quality components while speeding up production so we could do more volume. The biggest thing missing is Man hours...

Details? :O

I wouldn't want to replace the crash beam with an aftermarket drift bar either. But if theres an option that uses longer alternative intercooler piping, I'm interested.

We just purchased the ENTIRE USA TurboSmart warehouse stock of their Raceport Series BOV, so March 1 the TurboSmart Raceport BOV will be STANDARD at the $2999 price point in the kit. (Your Choice, Anodized Blue or Black)

We are actually waiting on TurboSmart to get more BOV, so they can complete our initial volume purchase order.

I know many have requested this valve for the kit and we're happy to make the change.

There will be NO price increase as a result, just one more way to make this the best kit possible
