GT 86 Boot/Trunk Tools Location
Hey all,
I need some help trying to figure out where the heck my warning Triangle goes on my car??? So I have the boot liner, a Full spare tyre, and the jack with varying other tools that should be there like the towing eye etc. But I saw emergency triangle was just stuffed in a corner just loose and nowhere to live. Now looking online ive come across a few resources, the forum included: https://www.ft86club.com/forums/showthread.php?p=978619 Then I came across this image online: But that would NEVER fit with stock boot liner I have. My boot/trunk images below: ^ above image is from another member, but exactly the same. So where does the damn emergency triangle go? or am I missing a polystyrene holder or something?? |

I am pretty sure your top picture is from a JDM 86. Would be nice to know what country you live in as that would probably help figure it out. I don't even get the point of an emergency triangle. Just take all that overweight useless junk out.

Not sure about other EU countries but in Germany, cars require certain safety equipment such as a reflective triangle, which is usually hung from an open trunk lid as well as reflective safety vests that need to be worn for when you are stopped on the shoulder. First aid kits are also standard equipment.

I've never seen a full size spare with a cover like that. Is that aftermarket or is that just how they come in South Africa?
I can tell you that we do not have a reflective triangle in the back of the US cars (at least mine doesn't), and the foam inserts around the spare seem to be the same based on your pictures. |

Nope just how it came. The reflective triangle is based on an EU law, and we mainly get European models here.... But nice to know i have a spare mag just in case |

Incase anyone needs this in the future.
The emergency triangle is tucked up against the spare wheel, and should be kept in place by a torque fit between the tyre and the body of the car ( between the tyre and the rear end): https://imgur.com/a/iFZk0Dk#ps5Tiq |

While I think a full size spare is great that bumpy floor would drive me nuts. I put so many things in the trunk that barely fit and that would eliminate those things, it would also make it impossible to get supermarket bags in without some creative crushing and maneuvering.
