It's the universal curse of getting old. Everything hurts and the few things that don't hurt don't work. The only thing worse is not getting old. I'll deal with the aches and pains thank you.

I had that very "debate" with my wife a few weeks ago. She was all upset that she can't do what she used to and did not take my response of "well the alternative is to not be able to do anything because you are dead".

She has also been upset that all her aunts and uncles seem to be dying off recently. She forgets that she is 60 and they are now all in their late 80s or even 90s! Of course they are dying off.

You could try to get her to adopt an approach that I'm trying - living in past glories. Back when I was a decent motorcycle racer, or took multiday solo wilderness backpacking trips, or whatever. I've plagiarized a name for it -

The Older I Get, The Better I Was.

In my case it's a real concern! I'm the oldest child of an oldest child from NC. My GRANDMOTHER was less than 34 years old when I was born. My aunts and uncles were no more than 14 years old than me when I was born. I remember my uncle's (the youngest) high school graduation. Because of this I am now the second oldest living member of my Mother's side of the family.

All my uncles and aunts are gone, so are a lot of my cousins since both my mom and dad were the accidental way late babies of their families. My mom is the only one still around. She will be 83 on Christmas day.

A bit part of her issue is that most of her family lives way up north and she hasn't seen them in about 30 years. In her mind and memory they are all 30 years younger than they actually are!

Yea, that definitely happens. My extended family has pretty much dispersed in the wind, and we keep in touch but rarely meet in person. The few times we do get together has moved from being weddings to funerals at this point.

The one good thing coming out of the Pandemic is folks are much more willing to do the family teleconference thing. We've done that a couple of times this year.

Explained before, 90% of my driving (which is my daily commute) is at an average speed over 80 miles of about 50MPH. Some of its at 30, some of its at 60, all on back roads. This just about hits the sweet spot for MPG.

I don't track the car, it's all street driving.

I was just giving you raspberries. It is such a nice car no matter how it is driven.
The only way i would trade mine would be if the new one had a turbo, and i am not holding my breath. So i am looking for more than 10 yrs. by then i will be 80 and maybe looking for something else.

The turbo makes the mundane moments a tad more exciting. The previous owner installed one, about 50-70HP more. I'd be okay without for the turbo for the twisty duties. Something about being able to step on the throttle fully, enjoy all 100% of the car thing.

In contrast with the turbo, I drove mine with TC off in the rain, it was relatively easy to break traction, even as simple as when trying to pass.

With that said, it can use a bit more power. Curious how the new one with 228HP and 183 lb/ft torque would feel, especially the mid-range.
