Thumbs up GT 86 Price in Portugal (cheaper than the Hyndai Genesis Coupe)

Quote:
Just the fact that its a personal project by the Toyota's founder grandson makes it special, the GT 86 is an affordable rear wheel drive sports car with a boxer engine, this configuration help achieve his main objectives «light and affordable compact sports car with a low center of gravity». It's one of the funniest car to drive, with about 200cv and prices starting at 33.000€ up to 37.000€. Other things that we like: excellent stering response, good mecanic response, fast gearbox, etc.

Translated for Auto Foco Spots Cars Magazine.
Compare to other cars price

Hyundai Genesis Coupé - 40.990€
Mini JCW Coupé - 38.150€
VW Golf GTI - 53.000€
Toyota Corolla - 33.000€

It´s going to be the cheapest sports car on sale in Portugal

Thanks Toyota

I cant wait till tomorrow to see full pricing and spec for the US model..
but if your country is any indication... I have a feeling the prices
will be very comparable with the Hyundai GenCoupe.

The GTI is expensive in the US as well, compared to it's rivals. It is because it has higher quality interior, of course some people will argue that fact.

I don't think GTI has any higher material quality than any Audi model, and it costs about the same as A1.

Volkswagen doesn't compete with a brand it owns.

No one does. But interior material of a VW is nowhere close an Audi, why do they charge the same price? a few ponnies more?

The A1 isn't even sold in the US, the only car Audi sells in the US close to the GTI is the A3, which is $4000 more.

33.000€ up to 37.000 !!!

thats pretty low - in portugal tax on new cars is 43%!!

If this price will be reality - then it will cost definitely under 25k€ in Germany

In Portugal a Golf costs 53.000 €? Glad in France it costs 31.130 €. So I think there is possiblity in France the GT86 will start from 27.000 €. I'd be glad with a bare-bone model at 23.000 €.

Because VW don't want to compete with their own brand, right? especially for a volume seller like GTI. AFAIK, GTI has Audi influenced interior with cost cutting.

Back to topic.
