Evolved chirping? New sound *TO ME*
Just started hearing this today. Sounds like a lower pitched cricket noise when idling. *EDIT* I guess this could be something loose in the cabin, but just wanted input.

The video doesn't have the best audio, but I think this is the same sound I get from time to time.
It only seems to show up at idle. It seems to come from the drivers side of the engine bay. The car has to be fully warmed up. Sometimes the sound will continue the whole time I'm at idle, sometimes it's only for a second or two. Messing with the clutch, shifter, brake pedal, park brake don't seem to effect it at all. It is absolutely never there when I get it home and have the chance to open the hood and have a good listen. My best guess is a heat shield or inspection panel that is loose and vibrating. Would love to know for sure though. |

It was doing it when I got to work, so I left it on and checked under the hood, but I couldnt really hear anything abnormal coming from the engine bay. Only when I got in the cabin and closed the door. Sorry I didn't have my pro recording equipment with me today :P

I hear this sometimes too. It's not always. Also, there already are threads about this noise.

I've had this sound for a while now, it only happen when I stop in red light or whatever, but it goes away in like 4 - 6 sec maybe. I check the engine bay to and it's not from there, then I went to check the exhaust below the car and I heard the noise and so I am guessing it's prob the exhaust. I had an accident before so idk if I should bring it to the dealer and ask them to fix it because it make void my warranty , but I am bring in this saturday for recall issue and imma try and see if it work out haha wish me luck!

A performance vehicle that make noise? Nnnnnnnnnnoooooooo....... something must be broken!
But really, from what I've been able to determine from my car, it sounds like it's the noise tube from the engine resonating in the cabin at idle. Anyone with the noise tube delete that has this sound? I'll poke around with my mechanics stethoscope later tonight when I have time. |
